A ServiceNow Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing applications and customizations on the ServiceNow platform, a cloud-based solution widely used for IT Service Management (ITSM), IT Operations Management (ITOM), and other business processes. This role involves configuring and customizing ServiceNow modules, creating custom workflows, developing business rules, UI policies, and script includes, and integrating ServiceNow with other enterprise systems. ServiceNow Developers work with technologies like JavaScript, REST APIs, SOAP, and ServiceNow’s proprietary scripting language to build solutions that automate processes, streamline operations, and enhance user experiences. They also collaborate with functional consultants to ensure that the ServiceNow instance meets specific business requirements and follows best practices for performance, security, and scalability. Additionally, ServiceNow Developers handle troubleshooting, maintenance, and upgrades to ensure the platform continues to operate efficiently. Strong expertise in the ServiceNow platform, including ServiceNow Studio, Service Catalog, Incident/Problem/Change Management, and ITIL practices, is crucial for success in this role.
